About The Astrology In Lebensrad

The board that corresponds to a horoscope has two wheels– the outer wheel with the signs of the zodiac, and the inner wheel with the twelve houses. The different energies of the signs are reflected in the colours chosen for them. The same colours in the same order are found in the wheel of the houses, indicating visually which houses correspond to which signs energy-wise.

The 360 degrees of the circle are marked round the edge of the wheel of the houses, each house occupying 30 degrees. During the game players progress round the zodiac moving forward the number of degrees corresponding to the points they throw on the dice. To complete a house a player must move forward 30 degrees by collecting 30 points.

The ten main planets used in astrology are represented in the game by planet-counters. The colours of the counters correspond as far as was technically possible to the colours of the signs and houses where the planets are rulers. According to astrology, planets are strong in the signs where they rule, and also in signs where they are exalted. They are weak in signs where they are in detriment or in fall. This valuation is reflected in the table of booster points.

The questions and sentences on the Task Cards reflect the issues likely to arise when the planet represented in the right-hand corner of the card is found in the respective house. For example, if we have Neptune in the seventh house in our birth chart or in transit, we may find the question on the card for Neptune in the seventh house relevant: Why do your relationships so often end in pain and disillusionment?

Teaching aids are provided on the cards for students of astrology. The four colours used in the bands at the top correspond to the four elements– red for fire, yellow for air, blue for water and green for earth. The elements describe the energy of the house and are repeated in the element logos on the left of the house number. On the right of the house number is a logo indicating whether the energy quality of the house is cardinal, fixed or mutable.

Astrologers can use the board to lay out a horoscope using the equal house system, and I have found it to be very popular in my consultations and teaching work over the years. It makes a horoscope come alive for a client in a way that a computer screen or a sheet of paper can never do. The white node counters, which are not used in the game, have been included for this purpose.
