THE BRIGHTON AND HOVE ASTROLOGY CIRCLE

Aim: To promote astrology as a tool for self-development and spiritual growth.

Talks by eminent astrologers
Astrology classes for beginners and advanced
Astrology inspired events, games and meditations

Time and Place: Thursdays 8.00 -9.30pm at Revitalise 86, Church Road, Hove (opposite Hove town hall). All are welcome on a drop in basis. Cost £5 (£4 members)

Programme: Fortnightly talks on different aspects of astrology, interspersed with class evenings. Talks are suitable for beginners and advanced, but a knowledge of basic astrology is needed for the class evenings (A new beginner’s class will start separately in September. Contact Phoebe to find out details) Bring your birth-chart to the meetings, if you have one, or give Phoebe your data and she will print one out for you free.

Membership yearly membership fee £12 (January to December 2008).

‘Vocation! Vocation! Vocation!’ talk by Trav. Heigh Ho! Heigh Ho! It's off to work we go.....', but which way? Using astrology's tradition - realise your potential - do the job you were born for.

11th

‘How to live Life in Tune with the Moon: the Lunar Cycle and Lunar Returns’ class with Phoebe. Let Phoebe print out your current lunar return chart beforehand. Email astrophoebe@btinternet.com.

‘Astrology and Tarot: Are There Links?’ talk by Sue Farebrother. Does the tarot have symbolism in common with astrology? We will explore possible links between the planets, zodiac signs and the Major Arcana, and consider the elements and numbers in the Minor tarot cards.

25th

‘Guess the Mystery Person’, class with Phoebe. In small groups you will be provided with a birth chart and enough biographical details to guess the owner. The winners get a prize!

‘Where’s Your Moon? In one of the 27 Lunar Mansions’ talk by Pam Carruthers. Pam will show you how Vedic astrology can give you deeper insights and a better understanding of the meaning of your moon as your heart and soul.

9th

‘Astrodrama’, class with Phoebe. The planets, your subpersonalities, all have different voices. We will experience how they speak to each other in your chart.

16th

‘Learning Astrology from Daily Life’ talk by Phoebe. How the twelve astrological archetypes manifest in our lives on many different levels. Learn to recognize them in everyday situations and suss out the deeper meaning of your life experience.

23rd

‘The Progressed Moon –The Significant Turning Points in your Life’ class with Pam. The new moon before your birth is the seed of your potential. The progressed new moons show the life path you promised to travel. Let Pam know your birth chart beforehand. Email Pam@healingstars.com

30th ‘Crystals, Astrology and Past Lives’ talk by Judy Hall. For thousands of years crystals and astrology have been inextricably linked. This talk will explore some of the oldest connections. Discover whether you have a crystal connection through the use of stones in your past lives.

‘The Part of Fortune’, class with Trav. Roll up! Roll up! For one night only, the Part of Fortune! Has Lady Luck hidden something in your chart? Cross my palm with silver and meet Fortuna and friends. All will be revealed!

‘The Quality of Time’ talk by Phoebe. Ancient calendars, forbidden knowledge, Hermes Trismegistos and the philosopher’s stone. How does it all hang together?

Where are we at? class with Phoebe. We will lay out our present transits in the circle on the floor and interpret them.

‘‘Love is a Careless Child – The Enigma of Mary Shelley’ talk Greg Szanto. Who was the person who created Frankenstein’s monster? The birth chart of Mary is not only that of the creator, but also paradoxically that of the famous creature.

‘Wheel of Life’ Astrology for self-discovery and personal growth. Come and play this interactive astrological board game created by Phoebe. It’s fun and very revealing! The oracle speaks!

‘Looking into the Stellar World for the Astrology of the Future, Part Two,’ a talk by Suzanne Rough. In part one Suzanne explained how finding and connecting with our personal star raises our consciousness to a new level. She will now take this further.

The Christmas Party. You are all invited to a glass of wine and some astrological surprises. Come wearing a clue to your sun sign in dress or make-up..



BIOGRAPHIES

Phoebe Wyss has worked as a professional astrologer for 28 years. She also has a qualification in counselling, and in past-life regression. She pioneered the experiential approach to astrology in Germany, where she first published her astrology board game, Lebensrad, She is author of the books Hercules’ Labours and Virtual Lives.

Judy Hall author of The Crystal Bible, Patterns of the Past, Karmic Connections, The Crystal Zodiac amongst many other books, has been a karmic astrologer and past life therapist for over 35 years. In her research for the MA in Cultural Astronomy and Astrology she focussed on ancient connections between stones, planets and gods.

Greg Szanto is author of The Marriage of Heaven and Earth: The Philosophy of Astrology; Astrotherapy: Astrology and the Realization of the Self; and Perfect Timing: The Art of Electional Astrology. He obtained the gold medal from the Faculty of Astrological Studies, and has been their director of summer schools. He is a practising psychotherapist.

Pam Carruthers is a professional certified Western and Vedic astrologer. (Faculty of Astrological Studies and ACVA). She works as a counselling astrologer, and facilitates workshops as a Psychology of Vision trainer.

Sue Farebrother is a tutor for the Faculty of Astrological Studies and the London School of Astrology, and teaches tarot privately. She has been practising for 25 years. She gained a Masters at Bath Spa University in 2007, with a Distinction for her thesis on the links between astrology and tarot.

Trav’s interest in astrology started in childhood. He studied with the Faculty, and was later tutored by Olivia Barclay and John Frawley in horary and traditional methods where his real interest lies. A member of the 'Stargroup' of the University of Chichester, Trav runs his own traditional group, 'The Astrological Explorers', as well as his horary practice.

Suzanne Rough became a professional astrologer in 1987. In 1998 she set up the DK Foundation, an esoteric school in which astrology is used to assist soul - personality alignment.
