The Brighton and Hove Astrology Circle

Affiliated to the Astrological Association of Great Britain

Aim: to be an umbrella organisation for Brighton and Hove astrologers, and to promote a wider knowledge of astrology as a tool for managing our lives.

Time and Place: Thursdays 8.00 -9.30pm at Revitalise 86, Church Road, Hove (opposite Hove town hall). All welcome on a drop in basis. Cost £5 (£4 members)

Programme: Talks and classes on different aspects of astrology. Most meetings are suitable for beginners and advanced. Bring your birth-chart if you have one, or ask Phoebe to print one out for you free.

Membership: yearly membership fee £12 (January to December 2010).

Classes: Beginners with Ana Isabel, Wednesdays 7-9pm, starting 27th January, Price £15 a two-hour lesson.
Advanced with Sue Farebrother, Fridays 7-9 pm, starting 29th January, six weeks, price £125

7th

‘Horary Astrology: your Questions Answered‘ a class withTrav. Horary is an ancient divinatory method using astrology to answer specific questions. So think of a burning question to bring along with you for Trav to answer in this class.

14th

‘Jupiter in Pisces’ a talk by Phoebe. Jupiter enters Pisces this week. Will he bring revelation and inspiration or just magnify the confusion in our lives? Tips on how to navigate his deep ocean currents.

21st

‘Locational Astrology‘ a talk by Pete Watson. Pete will introduce us to astro- cartography and local space astrology, using examples from your charts and the charts of famous people. The fascinating WHERE of astrology will be brought alive.

28th

‘2010 Transits Part 1: The Big Players‘, talk by Pam to give you a month by month look at the important relationships the major planets reveal this year. Be well prepared for times of stress, times for letting go and times of good fortune.


February
4th

‘Guess the Mystery Person’, class with Phoebe. In small groups you will be provided with a birth chart and given enough biographical details to guess its owner. The winners get a prize! (not so suitable for absolute beginners).

11th

‘As Time Goes By...’ talk by Sue Lewis.
The ticking clock of age point progression starts from the ascendant and spends six years in each house, Sue, a Huber astrologer will give an illustrated talk on this technique referring to your natal charts and using examples from charts of famous people.

18th

‘2010 Transits: Getting Personal’ Part 2 of Pam’s look at the 2010 transits. The cycles of the personal planets affect us in our daily lives. We will track the 12 New Moons and the January and July Eclipses, Mercury and Venus retrogrades and Mars retrograding through Leo.

25th

‘Fated Relationships? - The Vertex in your Horoscope’ talk by Bernard Honey. Bernard will explain what the Vertex is, and what lessons it can teach about your romantic relationships and ties, depending on its position by sign and house and the aspects it makes."


March
4th

‘Astrodrama‘, a class with Phoebe. The planets, which we see as standing for your subpersonalities, all have different voices. Come and experience how your planet speak to each other in your chart.

11th

‘We live in Dangerous Times: the Saturn-Pluto Square,’ a talk by Phoebe. Saturn and Pluto are at present in league with each other to put us personally and collectively under intense pressure. It’s all about radical change.... and suffering if we try to resist the inevitable.

18th

‘The General Election‘ a talk by Paul Wright. Paul will take a look at the astrological influences on the leaders of the three parties, and possible outcomes using transits and progressions.

25th

‘Mars: Aggression, Assertiveness and Conflict Resolution’ a talk by Ana Isabel. Ana will explore how living our Mars energy more consciously can help us to a deeper understanding of our anger, and suggest positive ways of resolving conflict.




BIOGRAPHIES

Phoebe Wyss a professional astrologer with 30 years experience, and qualifications in counselling and past-life regression. She pioneered the experiential approach to astrology in Germany, and is author of an astrology board game, two books and a series of 12 astrology-inspired plays. See www.astrophoebe.com

Pete Watson is an astrologer with over 20 years of experience in locational work. He used to live in Brighton but now lives in London. See more about him on his website, www.starscan.plus.com

Pam Carruthers is a professional certified Western and Vedic astrologer (Faculty of Astrological Studies and ACVA). William Travers’ interests lie in horary and traditional astrology. He studied with the Faculty where he was tutored by Olivia Barclay and John Frawley. A member of the traditional astrology ‘Stargroup’ of the University of Chichester, he offers both horary and natal consultations.

Ana Isabel, who been an astrologer for over ten years, broadcasts regularly on BBC radio. She specialises in combining astrology, storytelling and drama to help clients understand themselves better.

Paul Wright has been doing astrology for about 20 years, specialising on mundane and financial astrology from both the modern and traditional perspectives. He is also interested in dowsing, earth energies and crop circles.

Bernard Honey, a trained carer guidnce adviser and astrologer, studied astrology with the Faculty. He interprets horoscopes and teaches astrology to beginners and to homeopaths.

Sue Lewis, Sue is a tutor of the Astrological Psychology Association with interests in philosophy, esotericism and consciousness. She facilitates a group that meets once a month in London.

Sue Farebrother, a tutor for the Faculty of Astrological Studies and the London School of Astrology, gained a Masters at Bath Spa University in 2007 with a thesis on the links between astrology and tarot. www.suemerlyn.co.uk
